Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • Passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics and at least 50% aggregate marks, OR
  • Completed a 3-year diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Automobiles/Computer Science/Instrumentation/IT) with 50% aggregate marks, OR
  • Passed a 2-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics as non-vocational subjects and 50% aggregate marks.

Note: Candidates appearing for their Class 12 exams in 2024-25 can also apply, provided they meet the eligibility criteria later.

2. Age Limit

  • Agniveer 02/2025 Batch: Born between 01 Sep 2004 – 29 Feb 2008.
  • Agniveer 01/2026 Batch: Born between 01 Feb 2005 – 31 Jul 2008.
  • Agniveer 02/2026 Batch: Born between 01 Jul 2005 – 31 Dec 2008.

3. Marital Status

Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage during the 4-year tenure will result in dismissal.


Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of two stages:

Stage I – INET 2025

  • Exam Date: May 2025
  • Exam Pattern:
    • 100 MCQs (English, Science, Mathematics, General Awareness).
    • Duration: 1 hour.
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Application Fee: ₹550 + 18% GST.

Stage II – Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Exam, and Medical Examination

  • PFT: Candidates must qualify in a 1.6 km run, squats, push-ups, and bent-knee sit-ups.
  • Written Exam: 100 MCQs (similar to Stage I).
  • Medical Examination: Candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards.

Training and Service

  • Training Location: INS Chilka, Odisha.
  • Training Duration: Agniveer 02/2025 (Sep 2025), Agniveer 01/2026 (Feb 2026), Agniveer 02/2026 (Jul 2026).
  • Service Tenure: 4 years.

Pay and Benefits

  • Monthly Salary: ₹30,000 in the first year, with yearly increments.
  • Seva Nidhi Package: A one-time payout after 4 years, including contributions from the Agniveer and the Government.
  • Life Insurance Cover: ₹48 lakh during the engagement period.
  • Death/Disability Compensation: Up to ₹44 lakh based on circumstances.

Note: Agniveers are not entitled to pension or gratuity.
