Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment 2025-26 for Women: Everything You Need to Know
The Zonal Recruiting Office, Shillong, has released a notification inviting online applications from unmarried female candidates for the selection test under the Agniveer Intake 2025-26. The recruitment is part of the Agnipath Scheme, providing young women with an opportunity to serve in the Women Military Police.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit:
- Candidates must be between 17 ½ - 21 years.
- For widows of Defense personnel who died in harness, the upper age limit is 30 years.
2. Educational Qualification:
- Class 10th/Matric Pass with at least 45% aggregate marks and a minimum of 33% in each subject.
- Indian Gorkhas: Simple pass in Class 10th.
- Candidates with a valid LMV Driving License will get preference for driver posts.
3. Special Eligibility:
- Widowed, divorced, or legally separated women without children can apply.
- Widows of Defense Personnel who died in harness can apply even if they have children (provided they have not remarried).
Physical Standards
- Height: 162 cm
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per Army Medical Standards.
- Chest Expansion: Minimum 5 cm expansion capability.
Relaxation in Height:
- Candidates from Northeast Region (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya), Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Ladakhis, and Tribals get a 4 cm height relaxation.
Selection Process
The recruitment process is divided into two phases:
Phase I: Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE)
- Conducted at designated test centers.
- Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Available in 13 languages, including Assamese, Hindi, English, and more.
- Marking Scheme:
- Full marks for each correct answer.
- No negative marking for unattempted questions.
- All attempted questions are considered for evaluation.
Phase II: Recruitment Rally
Candidates shortlisted based on CEE scores will proceed to the Recruitment Rally, which includes:

- 1.6 km Run – Must complete within 7 min 30 sec to 8 min.
- 10 Feet Long Jump
- 3 Feet High Jump

- No fixed syllabus.

- Women who become pregnant during training/service may be disqualified.
Incentives & Bonus Marks
Candidates from special categories receive bonus marks:
- Daughters of Service/Ex-Servicemen/War Widows: 20 marks
- Outstanding Sportswomen: Up to 20 marks
- NCC Certificate Holders:
- NCC ‘A’ – 5 marks
- NCC ‘B’ – 10 marks

Salary & Benefits
Agniveers will serve for 4 years with the following pay structure:
